Checking to make sure you have the correct ODBC Access Database Drivers

Another frequent problem with using databases on a web server is not having the correct ODBC Microsoft Access Driver installed.

Follow the steps below to determine the version of the ODBC Microsoft Access Driver you have installed on your system -

First you need to open the 'ODBC Data Source Administrator' in Windows 98 you will find it in the 'Control Panel' under '32bit ODBC', in Windows 2000 you will find it under 'Control Panel', 'Administration Tools' and it will be called 'Data Sources ODBC'. If you can't find it on your system then you don't have any ODBC drivers installed.

Once you open the ODBC Data Source Administrator select the 'Drivers' tab . You should now see a list of ODBC drivers installed on your computer.

Look down the list for 'Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)'.
